Book Review on Geek Girl by Holly Smale

  This book is about a girl called Harriet Manners who is a Geek. At school nobody likes her apart from Toby, another Polar bear in the rainforest, and Natalie, Harriet's BFF. But at a Clothes Show something happens. It changes Harriet's world and nearly wipes out a friendship.

A great book for 11+ girls, who like books by Jacqueline Wilson and Cathy Cassidy.

Daizy star is still looking for her star quality and it's nearly the end of Primary School!! When she finds out that her class are going to Paris for a school trip she can't quite believe it!  A French adventure with modern art, stray cats and boy mad friends. Will Daizy find her star quality or will she find that she's special just the way she is?

I love this book! A fun-filled book with relatable characters. A great book from the great author Cathy Cassidy!

Review on Cherry Blossom Dreams by Gwyneth Rees

Cherry Blossom Dreams is about Sasha - a nearly 13 year old who has a complicated life. Her friends - Lily and Priti - don't get on at all, her mum is dating a 9 year younger man and Sasha's dad died when she was 5. Oh, and her twin brother Sean is hiding a snake with his friend Zack.
The only time Sasha can escape her hard life is Blossom House, a big old Victorian house with cherry trees in the garden. But Blossom House has secrets lurking in every nook and cranny. Will they discover it? And what's wrong with Granny?

I think this book is great and suitable for girls age 10 +. I am sure you will fall in love with the book!

I've written over a hundred books, but I'm most well known for my Animal Stories series.

What is your latest book?

The Water Horse has just been published, The Truffle Mouse will be published in August. Return to the Secret Garden and The Snow Princess will be published in October.

What is it like being a writer?

Mostly fantastic, except for the days where the book doesn’t want to work!

What tips would you give to want-to-be writers?

Read – the more you read and think about what you’re reading the better your own writing will be. Also, try to finish things!

How did you get into writing?

I worked as an editor at a children’s publisher and came up with an idea for a book series. I was supposed to work the idea up so we could suggest it to authors who might want to write it, but I fell in love with the idea and wrote it myself.

Who is your inspiration?

I don’t really have one…

Who would you like to thank for giving you ideas, their thoughts ect.?

My children are very useful feedback, and good at having accidents and entanglements that find their way into my books. So are my cats!
